CQUPT adheres to independent innovation, and is a national advanced collective in information industry science and technology innovation and a national high-tech industrialization demonstration project base, and is known as the "birthplace of digital communication in China". The university has successfully developed the first set of 24-way, 30/32-way pulse coder and 120-way multiplexer and their supporting instruments in accordance with ITU standards, participated in the formulation of the third-generation mobile communication standards and designed the world's first TD-SCDMA baseband chip, etc. In recent years, the university has undertaken more than 510 national projects, and more than 3,100 authorized invention patents.
