2023 年度 Baillie Gifford 非虛構寫作獎，獎金 50,000 英鎊
倫敦2023年11月17日 /美通社/ -- John Vaillant 所著的《Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World》，於今晚，即 11 月 16 日星期四宣佈為 2023 年 Baillie Gifford 非虛構寫作獎的獲獎書籍。獲獎書籍在科學博物館舉行的頒獎典禮上宣佈，並得到 Blavatnik 家族基金會的慷慨贊助。
Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World by John Vaillant is announced as the winner of the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction 2023 at a ceremony hosted at the Science Museum and generously supported by The Blavatnik Family Foundation.
《Fire Weather: A True Story from a Hotter World》講述了 2016 年一場毀滅性山火重創了加拿大亞伯達省 Fort McMurray 的故事。John Vaillant 深入探討了石油工業與氣候科學之間的互相關聯，講述了現代山火造成的破壞，以及這些災難對受災人們生活的影響。
Baillie Gifford 獎旨在表彰和獎勵最佳非虛構寫作作品，所有國籍的作者均可參與。獲獎者 Vaillant 將獲得 50,000 英鎊獎金，而其他入圍的作者將各獲得 5,000 英鎊，總獎金高達 75,000 英鎊。
